Abeko Take Delivery
Of The UK's First Cat 299D XHP
Compact Track Loader

Lincolnshire based plant and marine hire specialist, Abeko, has recently purchased a new Cat 299D XHP compact track loader from Finning, becoming the first company in the UK to take delivery of this new machine. The machine was sold complete with a mulching tool.

Abeko specialise in plant hire for clients with exceptional requirements in a wide variety of industries. The new Cat 299D XHP will join Abeko’s fleet of over 100 units of plant, including tracked and wheeled excavators, bulldozers, dump trucks, crushers and a large selection of specialised attachments for most machines.

Abeko Director, Marcus Cleve commented, “Having purchased a new Cat 287B multi terrain loader in 2007, we recently took the decision to upgrade to the new Cat 299D XHP compact track loader fitted with the latest Cat HM415B XHP mulching head. We were very impressed with the new lift design of the machine, which delivers better reach and lift height for quick and easy loading.”

Abeko will utilise the new equipment on on-going utility contracts to remove vegetation beneath high voltage overhead power lines. The new machine will also be deployed on farms, site clearance projects, woodlands and SSSI (Sites of special scientific interest) throughout the United Kingdom.

The new Cat 2 is installed with vision link and uses biodegradable oil. The new XHP series are also Stage IIIB compliant and offer a 22% increase in hydraulic horsepower over the XPS models.

Eagle Plant Expands Fleet Of Morooka DumpersEagle Plant Expands Fleet Of Morooka Dumpers

Eagle Plant of Westbury in Wiltshire has recently increased its fleet of Morooka tracked dumpers with the purchase of 12 new machines from Cautrac, the sole UK importer.

The new dumpers cover payloads ranging from 3 to 11 tonne including four MST800VD models supplied with bodies having three opening sides for greater operational flexibility and the ability to suit the demands of many different applications. These 4.3 tonne capacity machines are powered by Cat Tier 3 engines developing 84.5 kW@2200 rpm.

Eagle Plant director Alan Cradock said: “I first saw a Morooka machine back in 2001 and I could immediately see the potential for a dumper that could go anywhere and leave the ground in a condition requiring little, if no reinstatement work.”
