A-Plant Lux & Revolutionary Traffic SignalsA-Plant Lux & Revolutionary Traffic Signals

As part of major investment to enhance its hire fleet, A-Plant Lux Traffic Control & Management has placed a £1.5 million order with Pike Signals Limited for a total of 275 Portable Pedestrian Traffic Signal Units.

The order comprises Pike’s new Evolution range and APlant Lux is the first national traffic management company in the UK to offer the state-of-the-art units.

Pike has recently launched the Evolution range following two years of research and development and it represents a major step forward in vehicle and pedestrian control using Portable Traffic Signals.

The Highways England (formerly the Highways Agency) approved units have gone straight into the APlant Lux fleet and are available to hire from its traffic management Service Centres nationally. Jim McLachlan, Business Development Director for A-Plant Lux said:

We believe these units are the most innovative on the market and offer significant benefits over more conventional traffic management solutions.     Allowing up to nine vehicle phases and eight pedestrian crossing points, they have the ability to control a wider range of roadwork situations than ever before.

The Evolution units have a flexible, configurable system which allows control for either vehicles only, vehicles and pedestrians, or pedestrian-only installations. They have full Type Approval to the latest Highways England specifications TR 2502B, TR 2537A and TR 2538A.

A V Plant Ltd, has taken delivery of three Kubota U55-4 More Diggers for A V Plant

South Wales-based plant hire specialists, A V Plant Ltd, has taken delivery of three Kubota U55-4 "L" specification zero tail swing mini-excavators.

Having purchased a U55-4 in 2014, his first Kubota mini-excavator in a 20+ machine fleet, owner Andrew Davies was impressed by the Kubota's digging and lifting power and its versatility to work across different sites and in difficult conditions.

Andrew has also been impressed by the layout in the cabin - like the air conditioning and a clear and easy to use digital panel, which gives him up to 90 days of operational history.

Kubota dealer Chepstow Construction Equipment, which also provides AV Plant with parts and service support, has been delighted with the positive feedback from customers to date.
