Its Time To
Put on the Sun Cream
or Get Out the Wellies!

The organisers of the biennial construction plant show, Plantworx, like its predecessor, SED, will be keeping their fingers crossed for fine weather but, as the event in 2013 showed, nothing can be taken for granted.

However, those hardy construction workers have, over the years got used to blazing sun or having to seek help to get their cars pushed/pulled out of a water-logged car park. They will come in their thousands to look, evaluate, try out and haggle prices for the latest in construction plant, equipment and services that will be on offer.

This year, the CEA organizing team for Plantworx are providing car parking with hard standing areas to avoid any risk should it rain. So that's one risk eliminated.

It's a new showground, being evaluated for the first time, and over 300 companies will be exhibiting and demonstrating their offerings at Buntingthorpe Aerodrome, Leicestershire LE17 5QS across more than 13,000 m² of static sites and demonstration areas.

Always Worth A Visit

Plantworx, like Hillhead, which it alternates with, is always worth a visit. With such a vast array of equipment and services on display, there is always something that makes you say "That's a good idea. Why didn't someone think of that before now?"

Such trade shows also give potential buyers and operators looking for a more comfortable life, to compare like for like across leading brands and those smaller companies who, whilst not being a leader, still offer solutions that are worth a look.

The following pages gives you a flavour of what is at this year's event but it is only a taster from the 300+ companies. I will be there looking out for that hidden innovation and to meet with the exhibitors to try and glean some idea of what is in the pipeline.

And, its free.

Free to park. Free to enter (but to speed up entry, the organiser's do ask you to register on line). So wind, rain or shine , , ,set your SatNav for Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground, Bath Lane, Bruntingthorpe, LE17 5QS - but be careful. Some devices will direct you to the Bruntingthorp Industrial Estate! Don't say you were not warned!
