What's New In Plant & Equipment

Europe launch of compaction equipment

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) has launched a new range of compaction equipment .

With a name that is well-established for excavators, wheel loaders and dump trucks, HCME said the new range is designed to deliver the same proven levels of performance and durability, as well as efficiencies, ease of operation and simple maintenance.

There are four ZV-R series rammers ranging in weight from 63 kg to 79 kg. All are equipped with a low-vibration handle, user-friendly throttle lever and visible oil gauge. Power is via a Subaru or Honda petrol engine.

The 2 Subaru powered ZV-RL models and 3 Honda powered ZV-RLS models are lightweight - weight ranges from 60 kg to 73 kg.

All feature Pipe Guard engine protection. They also benefit from easy-to-maintain engine oil and air cleaner.

Plate CompactorsPlate Compactors

Hitachi offer four Subaru powered ZV-P vibratory plate compactors (1.5 kW ~ 2.9 kW) with operating weight from 49 kg to 89 kg. Base plate length is from 480 mm to 520 mm and width from 300 mm to 485 mm.

There is also a range of 4 ZV-PR reversible vibratory plate compactor with operating weights from 270 kg to 315 kg.

Various engines are used across the range with output from 3.1 kW to 5.1 kW.

A key feature is their manoeuvrability and easy maintenance. Plate dimensions for the two smaller models is 700 mm x 500 mm width and, for the larger models, 850 mm x 450 mm.

The larger two models can be fitted with extension plates giving a width of 600 mm.

Walk-behind rollers Walk-behind rollers

All three models in the ZV-W (ZV550W, WV650W, TSR65) range of walk-behind rollers are powered by Kubota diesel engines delivering 4.6 kW.

Operating range is 585 kg, 665 kg and 653 kg with 9.8 kN, 10.8 kN and 7.7 kN centrifugal force. Drum width is 586 mm, 650 mm and 586 mm.

Conveniently located levers and switches for easy operation. They can be cleaned quickly using the pull-out sprinkler nozzle.
