Wheeled Loader Excels In Waste Handling By
Major Recycling Company
A Kramer 880 wheeled loader
has been put to work at Nordic
Recycling’s facility on Tilbury
Docks in Essex to handle dry
recyclables in areas where
space is at a premium.
Delivered by Exeter based
Denbow International on
a four year contract, the
Kramer loader is now part of
a five machine fleet at Tilbury
operated by Denbow. The
fleet is currently working two
shifts from 6 am to 11 pm, 5
days per week and handling
a total of some 1000 tonne
of waste every week.
Nordic Recycling is one of the UK’s
largest independent waste management
companies and is owned by Forth Ports,
a major UK port operator. This ownership
provides Nordic with a unique set of ca-
pabilities in relation to the collection,
recycling, treatment and export of bulk
materials.
According to the company’s opera-
tions manager at Tilbury, Tahar Trabelsi,
“The 880 has slotted-in very well to the operation and is performing beyond our expectations
and easily keeping pace with the rate at which we need it to feed the baler plant to meet our
high level of activity.”
The super-stable 4-wheel steer, 4-wheel drive Kramer loader is powered by a Deutz tur-
bocharged and intercooled diesel engine developing 88 kW (120 hp) and offers a maximum
payload of 4500 kg and an impressive load-over height of 3530 mm.
an 8’ x 6’ standard centrifugal pump. The
complete set was built and fully tested in less
than 10 days.
Elodie Rodriguez, Western European Sales
Manager for Pioneer Pump, commented:
‘This was our first ever enquiry from Becot
France and we were delighted to have had the
privilege of providing them with a solution.
Through close collaboration, both companies
were able to service their customer’s require-
ments swiftly and to specification. We are
now looking forward to further projects on
which to collaborate’.
