JCB is to introduce a brand new 4CX Wastemaster backhoe loader to its range for the waste and recycling industry claiming it will be “ delivering unprecedented levels of efficiency, versatility and cost savings”. Fitted with a package of features, the backhoe loader is transformed into a tailor-made model for demanding waste environments. With its ability to power an extensive range of specialist attachments, the JCB 4CXWM model, JCB’s first dedicated backhoe loader for the industry, has the power for handling materials in non-stop working environments typically found at Household Waste Recycling Centres, also known as Civic Amenity Sites. The cost of the 4CXWM, and versatility should appeal to contractors using a wheeled excavator typically seen on site. The specialist new model incorporates longer rear stabilisers and a front frame incorporating hydraulic legs. This combination raises the entire machine horizontally well clear of the ground, offering the operator exceptional views into a bin when compacting material with either a grapple or compaction wheel attachment. Other JCB attachments appropriate for waste handling include grabs for handling waste material, a hook lift for manoeuvring bins and a sweeper collector for keeping the site clean and tidy. Furthermore, the range of purpose-designed bucket options open up a wide array of typical waste re-handling tasks. At the loader end, users can choose between high capacity general-purpose, 6-in-1, or top grab buckets depending on the application and nature of the load. At the excavator end, a hydraulic jaw bucket or a mechanical grapple both deliver highly effective materials handling capabilities. Safety on site is enhanced by all round visibility from the cab, high visibility stabiliser chevrons, convex mirrors, rotating beacon and a reversing alarm. Machine protection is assured with the inclusion of additional boom protection, light guards, belly guards and puncture protected tyres. In addition, the machine uses the most robust loader arms and axles available – taken from the recently introduced JCB 5CX model. It also features the powerful brand new 81 kW (109 hp) Stage IIIB/Tier 4 Interim JCB Dieselmax engine. The A 904 C Litronic is a 24 tonnes class long-reach wheeled materials handler and features an hydraulically elevating operator’s cab and four hydraulic outriggers for exceptional stability; maximum lifting capacities are up to 4.50 t at 10.50 m radius. |
