Another excavator and dump truck from Komatsu Europe

Following on from the launch of the PC390LC-10 excavator and the HM400-3 artculated dump truck n North America (see Contractors World Internatonal Vol 3 No 1) and more to be on show at Intermat 2012, Komatsu Europe Internatonal has now announced the PC360LC/NLC-10 hydraulic excavator. and the HM300-3 ADT.

With an operating weight of 35.570 kg,

the new model is powered by a Komatsu SAA6D114E-5 engine with a fywheel horsepower of 271 hp (202 kW), and is EU Stage IIIB / EPA Tier 4 Interim emission certfed.

The environmentally friendly engine increases power by 4% compared to the former model, while decreasing fuel consumpton. Drawbar pull is also increased by 10%, steering and manoeuvrability are improved, with no loss of travel speed. Today, all Komatsu machines feature the latest KOMTRAX technology as standard.

Apart from the new engine, the PC360 LC-10 benefts from new hydraulic pumps, motors, and valves that are exclusively designed and produced by Komatsu. This ntegrated design uses a closed centre load sensing hydraulic system (CLSS) which enables variable speed matching. Variable matching technology allows the engine speed to adjust itself based on the machine load throughout each individual working cycle.

Enhanced Operator Environment

The entire cab is ful ly air suspended to minimise vibrations and noise. It incorporates the side consoles mounted together with a high back, fully adjustable seat, heated for improved comfort.

The new cab, with ROPS compliance to ISO 12117:2008, has been specifcally designed for hydraulic excavators to provide a comfortable and quiet work environment where operators can maximize their productivity. The cab gains strength from a reinforced tubular skeleton framework. Viscous damper mounts provide low vibraton levels, further enhancing fne control and reducing operator fatgue. An extra input has been added to connect an MP3 player or other device that uses a standard auxiliary plug along. Two 12 volt ports that are also included in the cab.

A new high resoluton 7” LCD monitor features enhanced capabilites allowing the operator to easily select up to six working modes to match machine performance to the applicaton.

The PC490LC-10 will also be introduced at Intermat 2012 together with a host of other new equipment.
