Out & About
Doosan Infracore Portable Power (DIPP) and Leach Lewis Plant are celebrating a very successful start to their one year old partnership under which Leach Lewis has a non-exclusive agreement to distribute DIPP’s products in the South East of England. It is now responsible for sales and support for the complete range of portable air compressors and has sales access to the extensive range of generators, lighting towers and construction tools from DIPP. One of the outstanding achievements by Leach Lewis is the number of companies that have been converted to the Doosan range which previously purchased other brands. Already more than 40 new customers have decided to purchase the Doosan brand for the first time. These customers are spread across a wide range of markets including plant and tool hire businesses, shotblasters, utilities contractors and pipe laying companies. Peter Whittall, Managing Director at Leach Lewis, commented: "We are delighted by the success we are having with the Doosan range, which has been well accepted by our sales force and customer base alike. One of the keys to this is our commitment to have in stock large quantities of product. This allows us to respond very quickly to customers especially in the hire and utility markets where products can often be required on short notice." A Buckinghamshire based landscaping supplies company has just taken delivery of its fourth Kramer wheeled loader since being established by Michael Bryant some 20 years ago. Country Supplies of High Wycombe now has a workforce of 13 people and currently handles in excess of 25,000 tonne/annum of materials such as topsoil, bark and aggregates. This material is delivered to customers within an approximate 50 mile radius of the base using its own fleet of nine vehicles ranging in size from 18 to 26 tonne. Commenting on the new Kramer loader, Mr. Bryant said: "The 780 model I chose this time is proving to be the perfect size for working within our cramped two acre site as it has the necessary power and capacity to handle up to 300 tonnes of material on a busy day." Mr. Bryant particularly likes the rigid chassis and 4-wheel steer layout found on all Kramer machines because it provides high levels of stability and hence safety when manoeuvring in tight spaces. "It is this combination of features", continued Mr. Bryant, "As well as the excellent service provided by our local dealer, that has kept me loyal to the brand." The 780 model, supplied to Country Supplies by Industrial & Construction Equipment of Stoke-on-Trent, is the second largest in Kramer’s range and the first to be delivered to a UK customer. It weighs in at 6100 kg and is powered by a Deutz diesel engine developing 58 kW (79 hp) @ 2300 rpm. The machine can handle loads of up to 3500 kg and offers a maximum load-over height of 3200 mm.
