SITE EQUIPMENT - WHAT'S NEW
Komatsu PC240LC-10, powered by Stage IIIB /Tier 4 Interim Engine Technology comes to Europe The introduction of the PC240LC-10I further expands the range of “Dash 10” machines and feature the same improvements in efficiency, lower fuel consumption, better operator comfort, and enhanced serviceability to maximize productivity and lower operating costs. With the operating weight up to 26100 kg, the excavator is powered by a Komatsu SAA6D107E-2 engine with a flywheel horsepower of 177 hp (132 kW), and is EU Stage IIIB / EPA Tier 4 Interim emission certified. Built upon the proven Komatsu Tier 3 engine platform, the new excavator maximises Komatsu’s leadership in technology and innovation to deliver an environmentally friendly engine with 5% more power and up to 10% less fuel consumption. A fully automatic switchable auto-deceleration system can reduce fuel usage during idle conditions by up to 30%. As with all Komatsu machines today, this latest model is equipped with the latest KOMTRAX technology. Key features increase efficiency and productivity The Komatsu SAA6D107E-2 engine uses an advanced electronic control system to manage air flow rate, fuel injection, combustion parameters, and after treatment functions to optimize performance, reduce emissions, and provide advanced diagnostic capability. Komatsu has developed a hydraulically actuated Komatsu Variable Geometry Turbocharger (KVGT) and an Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve, to give better precision and air management as well as longer component life. The Komatsu Diesel Particulate Filter (KDPF) has an integrated design that does not interfere with daily operation but keeps the operator aware of its status. Its regeneration system, with active or passive mode, has a manual override integrated into the monitor panel. An integrated design benefits from a closed centre load sensing hydraulic system (CLSS) which takes hydraulic efficiency to the next level with variable speed matching. Variable matching technology allows the engine speed to adjust itself based on the machine load throughout each individual working cycle. Additional enhancements made within the hydraulic system reduce hydraulic loss and result in better efficiency and lower fuel consumption. |
