Joining the existing E45 and E50 mini excavators and aimed at the growing 4-5 tonne mini-excavator market, the new Bobcat E55 compact excavator is designed around the E50 zero tail swing excavator but with a conventional upper structure giving some 30 cm tailswing

Equipped with cab and bucket, the E55 has an operating weight of 5,501 kg. It is powered by the Kubota V2403-M-DI-TE38-BC-4 turbo-charged Tier III diesel

engine producing 35.4 kW net per SAE J1349 of output power at 2200 RPM.

A long dipper stck is standard on the E55, to provide a good working range with a maximum

digging depth of 3,923 mm compared to 3,524 mm with the E50, so more digging depth but the same breakout forces of 26.1 kN and 42.0 kN in the dipper stck and at the bucket, respectvely.

Designed for high productivity

As with the other models in the series, the E55 retains the same fngertp controls and hydraulics, with load-sensing piston pump, to provide for a fast cycle tme with precision. The boom and dipper arm cylinders are cushioned to provide

a smooth, end-of stroke operaton.

The conventional upper structure increases overall stability, which enables increased lifting capacity and more efficient digging in hard ground. Lifing capacity, over the side, is 1,405 kg at 1 m height and at a radius of 3 m. This gives the E55 the ability to lift heavy loads, including loading and unloading items from trucks as well as installing heavy piping and construction

By relocatng such things as windscreen wiper motors, visibility is signifcantly enhance. It may not be rocket science but ofen the best soluton does not need high-tech answers
