Plantworx has got the support necessary for success.

From the beginning the inevitable queston was asked “Would industry support a trade event in these difcult tmes? “ The answer from the industry was a resounding ‘Yes’ - with certain caveats. Twelve leading brands were in the draw - in the ‘Dig Zone’ are Ammann, Case, Hyundai, JCB, New Holland, Terex, Thwaites, Volvo and Wacker Neuson. Bomag, Manitou and Merlo for the ‘No Dig Zone’.

The draw proceedings involved two sets of balls - one with the company name and the other with plots, indicated by a leter of the alphabet, and the exhibitors involved genuinely did not know where they were to be placed!

Simon Frere-Cook kicked of the proceedings saying, “‘The Grand Stand Draw for the allocaton of the maxi stands very clearly demonstrates the commitment that 12 major construction companies are making to PLANTWORX 2013 and based on this commitment we now have a very frm base around which we will contnue to build the event. We are very pleased to have achieved this commitment 18 months ahead of the event and it is a very clear indicaton of the constructon industry’s desire to hold PLANTWORX with its working demonstratons.”

Patsy and Delboy then got to grips with the ‘lotery tombola’! The frst ball to be drawn was Volvo and plot D. Mark Gunns of Volvo was rather pleased to be frst out of the bag and the audience cheered as the frst company was placed on the site plan! Next out was Wacker Neuson and plot A. Wacker’s Chris Pearce was delighted.

Patsy had a litle trouble pronouncing the next company to be drawn – it was Ammann and plot G. According to Patsy it was ‘A Man’, much to the amusement of the audience – who were laughing with great gusto! Sadly, Robert Brown Ammann’s sales director was unable to atend, but we are sure he will hear of the episode!

Next out was Terex and plot E – again Patsy had the crowd in fts of laughter, “Is it T-Rex?” “No”, said Delboy “I think it’s Touretes!” Brian Heathcote of Terex, raised a smile and a chuckle along with the crowd.

Thwaites, Case, JCB and New Holland were the next exhibitors to be drawn for the ‘Dig Zone’ with plots F, B, H and C. Dave Chuck was present on behalf of Thwaites, Yvete Henshall-Bell and Adrian Hall were there representing JCB.

Next on the agenda was the draw for the three companies in the ‘No-Dig Zone’. Patsy
