Key Stands Allocated for Plantworx 2013

The Heritage Motor Museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire was the venue for the latest major event as planning for Plantworx 2013 makes progress. Following on from a conference hosted by the Constructon Equipment Associaton, the organisers of PLANTWORX, in front of more than 60 guests from the constructon industry gathered to witness the PLANTWORX ‘Grand Stand Draw’.

Right from the start, Simon Frere-Cook, event Director and his team made a critcal decision to ensure that visitors to the event were encouraged to see as much as possible. Encouraging trafc around the many exhibitors was therefore a critcal consideraton.

This was partcularly important because, unlike SED of the past which benefted from one contnues display area with diferent entrance, the locaton at Stoneleigh Park is divided by a hedge line which efectvely splits the stand area in to two distnct, albeit very closely linked, areas - and only one entrance point.

Strategic Key Stand Placement

At any trade event, there are several major companies that always draw in the visitors. Therefore, the decision was made to disperse such companies around the venue area. To decide which companies were allocated key locatons, a ‘Grand Stand Draw’ took place.

Although a serious event, the organizers introduced an element of entertainments with two celebrity ‘look-alikes’ much to the enjoyment of the guests. The two special guests in attendance were Absolutely Fabulous star, Patsy Stone, and the lovable rogue from the Only Fools and Horses series, Delboy Trotter. The professional look-alike duo (Sue Bradbury and Maurice Canham), were tasked with ‘drawing the lottery’ for the maxi/anchor stands, for the forthcoming event - and added humour to the evening.
